Project overview

Safe access around live industrial operations.

BorsodChem’s legal predecessor was founded in 1949, and Kazincbarcika remains the centre of its production activity in Hungary. Wanhua acquired BorsodChem in 2011 and continued the site’s development as a European production base.

CTEC’s scope covers maintenance scaffolding and access structures for technical upgrades and new equipment. Work is managed through task-based orders and coordinated with operating-site requirements.

Current work includes designated operating areas and the chlor-alkali unit. This scaffolding scope is separate from CTEC’s EVE battery-plant foundation works.

Work-order process

From request to safe dismantling.

Each scaffold moves through a controlled task sequence, creating a clear record of planning, assembly, inspection, handover and close-out.

01

Receive

Confirm the task scope, access conditions and required timing.

02

Plan & assemble

Allocate people and materials for the equipment, space and working height.

03

Inspect & hand over

Inspect the completed scaffold and formally release it for use.

04

Dismantle & close

Remove the structure safely and close the work area after completion.

Measurement guide

Measured work is verifiable work.

Scaffolding quantities are determined from recorded dimensions and volume, making accurate field measurement and traceable documentation essential.

01 · SIMPLE SCAFFOLD

Rectangular volume

width × length × height

Width and length are measured between the outer tangents of the vertical tubes; height runs from ground level to the upper guardrail.

02 · COMPLEX SCAFFOLD

Divide, measure and total

V₁ + V₂ + V₃ + …

The structure is divided into regular volumes, measured individually and added together.

03 · CYLINDRICAL EQUIPMENT

Method selected by diameter

Diameter ≥ 3.5 m: perimeter × width × height

Below 3.5 metres, width × length × height is used; perimeter is calculated from the distances between standards.

04 · PROTECTIVE COVERING

Measured by area

(length + 0.6 m) × width

A 30 cm safety allowance is retained on both sides. Cylindrical surrounding areas use the difference between outer and inner rectangles.

Safety & standards

Site discipline, made visible.

Work is performed in accordance with the applicable Hungarian minimum occupational-safety requirements for construction sites and work processes, including Joint Decree 4/2002 (II.20.) SZCsM–EüM.

Handover identification

Green tags record maintenance classification and the E-Scaff identifier.

Weather-resistant fixing

Scaffold tags are secured at no fewer than two fixing points.

Competent personnel

Scaffolders and handover personnel hold the required qualifications and training.

Workforce change control

New personnel and qualification details are submitted within the required period.

Protection of existing assets

Connections and timber platforms are installed to protect structures and prevent movement.

Industrial scaffolding

Responsive capacity for operating plants and shutdown periods.
