Our approach

Local needs. Practical action. Lasting value.

Our responsibility extends beyond the construction site. We listen to local priorities, apply our engineering capabilities where they can help most and look for responsible ways to reuse resources.

Three examples of how CTEC’s Budapest–Belgrade Railway project team has supported communities along the route.

01 / COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE

2022–2023
Dunaharaszti, Hungary

A safer connection for Dunaharaszti.

In 2022, CTEC’s Budapest–Belgrade Railway project team responded to the Municipality of Dunaharaszti’s request for a new railway underpass. Following a careful review of the contractual and technical requirements, the team supported the delivery of this important municipal project.

Despite the challenges posed by operating railway lines and a complex network of underground utilities near section HK142, the former level crossing was converted into an underpass in February 2023.

The new connection separates railway traffic from pedestrians, cyclists and light electric vehicles, improving access to the nearby Dunaharaszti Városi Piac.

02 / CIRCULAR ECONOMY

July 2025
Local road improvement

Turning surplus material into local value.

Guided by the principles of reuse and resource efficiency, the project team repurposed surplus railway ballast to help the local municipality renovate approximately one kilometre of road.

The initiative reduced material waste while delivering a practical improvement for the community. In recognition of the responsibility demonstrated during the road works, the project team received a certificate of honour and the municipal coat of arms from Mayor Dr László Szalay.

03 / EDUCATION & COMMUNITY

August 2023
Soroksár, Budapest

Planting for the next generation.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Soroksár’s Napsugár Kindergarten, the Budapest–Belgrade Railway project team donated and planted young trees on the kindergarten grounds.

The initiative helped create a greener environment for children and reflected CTEC’s commitment to being an active, responsible neighbour in the communities along the railway project.
